there you were again that night

forcing laughter, faking smiles

you always have the same bored look

it’s like walls of insincerity

shifting eyes and vacancy vanished when you saw my face

across the room my silhouette started to make its way to you

the playful conversation starts, you counter all my quick remarks

like stolen glances across the room
